Welcome To the Home of The Chautauqua Volunteer Fire Department

Chautauqua Volunteer Fire Department is a unique department that is physically located adjacent to the grounds of Chautauqua Institution and protects approximately 17 square miles of the Town of Chautauqua as well as the Chautauqua Institution Grounds. We have a winter population of approximately 2,500 and a summer population of up to about 12,000 per week. Our district runs from Magnolia Road in the South to the Merz Boy Scout Camp in the North and from Chautauqua Lake on the East to County Road 25 (Morris Road) on the West. We border the fire districts of Mayville to the north, Ashville to the south and Sherman to the west.
